Audatech-USA, Inc.

About us: 80 years of history

Even though we have been in the US market only since 2014, we have come a long way with over 80 years of history.

Our history began in 1935 when Nicola Gemmani began his own enterprise for the production of agricultural plows. Gemmani’s business survived the destructive events of WWII and followed the new demands of the market. To maintain his business in operations, he opened up to the productions of other mechanical equipment.

A fundamental moment in the company’s history was marked by the arrival of his son, Giuseppe, a newly graduated engineer. Guiseppe’s passion for mechanics lead to the creativity of the company’s first woodworking machine in 1952. This machine was an immediate success that expanded outside of Italy.

A new wave of enthusiasm and innovation, mixed with the entrepreneurial spirit of the young engineer, would eventually lead to the creation of the SCM.

Today, the SCM Group is one of the world’s larger manufacturers of woodworking equipment and includes many companies/brands of machinery under its corporate umbrella.

Giuseppe’s inventive and creative spirit, expanded the company’s industrial activities into complementary technologies and applications. Developing spindles and electro-spindles, aggregate unites and dedicated software as well as electronic components, specifically designed for the application purpose.

Through Giuseppe’s entrepreneurial desire of seeking new opportunities and creating new jobs, began Audax. Audax, later renamed Audatronix, was a company that produced milling and lays equipment for woodworking. In 1985, this machinery eventually developed into CNC model, also with products dedicated to processing metals, which sold primarily to vocational schools.

In 1986, the first exposition at the EMO (The World of Metalworking trade show in Milan) officially signed the entering into the business of CNC equipment for the light metal industry and components.

In 2002, the companies merged under the name of Gemma Group. As older partners retired, the Gemmani family’s third generation became involved in managing the family business with Giovanni taking over the CEO position.

In 2005, the Gemma Group has begun a series of strategic acquisitions to open up and expand into the aluminum industry. The brand, Audatech, was established to address this sector.

Eventually the synergies, created by the assimilation of the know-how of companies like Altech and Rotex, added over 20 years of combined experience for the processing of aluminum extrusion to the company assets.

In 2007, begun the production of fully automated machining centers with self-loading and unloading, like the actual Mod. CLV-543.

We spent the first year studying the market and identifying key elements and machinery that would better fit it and then:

In 2015 we successfully participated to the GBA Trade Show in Atlanta as Audatech-USA.

And starting from 2016: we begin sales across the USA and accepting dealer’s applications.
